For Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2022, HostGator has decided to shave prices off their higher-tier shared hosting plans. The discounts go as high as 65%, so the Hatchling Plan is now $2.75/mo, while Baby and Business Plans are going for $3.50/mo and $5.25/mo, respectively.
Hostgator BFCM Deal – Worth it?
If you have been waiting for the lowest Hostgator price, then this offer is a no-brainer. You are not likely to find any cheaper Hostgator deal than this one. However, instead of the Hatchling Plan, I recommend you just up the ante and go for Baby or Business right away.
However, if you are not a Hostgator fan and are willing to try out other hosting providers – there are better deals elsewhere.
LiquidWeb, for example, offers 75% discount on their VPS hosting and 50% life-time discount on dedicated hosting (Get LiquidWeb BFCM promo code here). ScalaHosting, offers unlimited hosting and a free domain name at a much cheaper rate – Signup at $4.48/mo and renew at $9.85/mo (Get ScalaHosting BFCM promo code here).

HostGator was founded by Brent Oxley back in 2002. In 2012, Oxley sold the company to Endurance International Group (EIG) for an unofficial figure of $225 million. The company now has offices in Houston, Austin, Sao Paulo, and Florianopolis.
Following the acquisition, HostGator introduced new plans focused on Cloud hosting. These were designed to offer bloggers and small businesses reasonably priced hosting solutions. In addition, they continued to offer shared, VPS, dedicated, and WordPress hosting plans.
HostGator is definitely a good choice for beginners and small/individual bloggers who want a hosting solution that’s reasonably priced, packed with features, and offers solid server performance.
There are a few downsides though, such as expensive renewal fees and an overpriced website builder.
