What Makes a Web Host Great for Multiple Domains & Websites?

Web hosting plans that can support multiple websites are becoming increasingly popular. It's a fantastic way to cut costs and allow website owners to focus on drawing traffic rather than server management.

If you want to operate more than a single website on your plan, here are five things to note:

Slots for Addon & Parked Domains

A plan that provides multiple slots for addon and parked domains is essential to hosting more than one website. Addon domains allow you to create different websites with unique domain names. Parked domains let you accumulate spare domain names for later use.

Affordable Pricing

Hosting more than one website on a plan can be tricky where cost is concerned. The cheapest shared hosting plans will usually only allow a single website. Note how many websites a specific plan can support before signing up due to low prices.

Easy-to-use Domain Management System

Managing multiple websites can be tricky if your domain names are all over the place. Keep them integrated with a web host that offers a user-friendly domain management system. This system will also give you a bird's eye view of all your domain connections.

Pre-installed SSL

Installing SSL certificates can be tricky if you need to handle multiple websites. However, some web hosts solve this problem by helping pre-install SSL for every website you create. That can help you save a lot of time and headaches!

Support WP-CLI (Good to Have)

WP-CLI removes various unproductive tasks in web development and allows developers to manage multiple WordPress sites from one place. WP-CLI support is not a deal-breaker for hosting buyers with multiple websites but a good feature to have.

For those who are hosting multiple websites and searching for a web host, here are my recommendations.

What Makes Hostinger Good for Multiple Domains & Websites Hosting?

Extremely Cheap Signup Fees

Hostinger offers excellent bang for the buck. You’ll find what you pay for to be more than competitive – slots for 100 websites, integrated caching, unlimited free SSL, and support for over 25,000 visits. This value-packed goodness is what makes it one of the most worthwhile hosting solutions for multi-sites owners.

Hostinger Premium Shared Hosting Plans allow up to 100 websites at $2.49/mo.

Zyro – Easy-to-Use Website Builder

One advantage of Hostinger is its ownership of the Zyro platform. This website builder tool can help users quickly create and launch websites. There’s a low learning curve, and it’s pretty effective. Access to the Zyro website builder comes with most Hostinger plans.

Zyro comes with tons of professional designed templates that allow users to create multiple websites quickly without any coding skills.

Which Hostinger Plans to Host Multiple Websites?

You don't get unlimited website hosting like the previous two providers but signing on for Hostinger Premium plan sets a high upper limit. Users can host up to 100 websites, meaning you can point to at least that number of domain names.

Do note that Hostinger's plans are more suitable for basic websites or those early in their website-building career. If you intend to host something more traffic-intensive or mission-critical, Hostinger becomes somewhat less attractive.

How to Add an Addon Domain to Your Hostinger Account?

Hostinger uses hPanel for its shared hosting control panel – the terms used in its user dashboard are slightly different than cPanel but the process is very similar. To add an addon domain to your Hostinger account, go to Domains > Add Website; to add parked or sub- domains or subdomains, go to Domains > Parked Domains.

Hostinger Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Value pack: Cheap hosting with great features.
  • Zyro (advanced site builder) is included in all shared plans.
  • Free & very cheap domain prices.

Cons

  • Hosting prices increase after the first term.

Final Thoughts – Avoid Premium Providers to Host Multiple Websites

If you own many smaller sites and wish to host them together – the suggested web hosts above come with affordable pricing and allow at least 100 websites in their shared plans.

Note that some web hosts limit the number of websites you can host in one account. Premium providers like Kinsta and WP Engine charge expensive monthly fees to host additional websites – avoid these hosting providers if you are running multiple websites with little traffic.
