While Netmoly has a slightly higher price than others out there, the quality and features are up to par, especially with the shared hosting plans. I recommend Netmoly businesses and serious bloggers. If you are looking for a premium hosting and don’t mind paying a little bit more, Netmoly is a good call.

Important: Netmoly No Longer in Business

I strongly believe Netmoly is no longer in business due to the following facts:

  • I have lost contact with the company founder for more than a year.
  • Netmoly support email is not reachable.
  • I cannot access their website nor their server.
  • Our test site hosted at Netmoly has gone down for months now.

If you are hosting with Netmoly and things are still working – please let me know on Twitter.

A number of hosting providers has gone out of business quietly in the past few years. Netmoly is not the first… and certainly will not be the last.

With the ongoing pandemic and economy downturn, it is more important than ever to stick with a web host with good business track record.

I especially like both A2 Hosting and Hostinger for their scalability, stable performance, and newbie-friendly environment. Both shared hosting plans are reasonably priced – Hostinger 1 website plan starts at $1.39/mo while A2 starts at $2.99/mo. You can learn more these providers here: A2 Hosting Review and Hostinger Review.

The following review no longer matters – please ignore.

Finding the right web hosting platform isn’t easy. With so many out there, how do you know which one is right for you? It all comes down to exploring your options and finding the one that has the characteristics you want at a price you can afford.

With that in mind, I am going to cover a lot more web hosts in 2016, including the small- and mid-sized, so you can get more options. Today, we are going to take a look at Netmoly.

Netmoly is a privately owned U.S. company founded by a tech-savvy entrepreneur, Mina Ishak. When Netmoly launched in 2013, it had an ambitious goal in mind. It wanted to provide unparalleled web hosting services at affordable prices. Let’s see if it manages to accomplish this goal.

About Netmoly, the Company

First, let’s check out the types of web host plans offered by Netmoly.

Shared Hosting Plans

Netmoly offers three shared hosting plans. You can get the Startup, Business, or Business Pro.

All of these plans come with cPanel access, an SSL certificate, and unlimited email accounts. That’s where the similarities end.

The Standard plan has 100 GB of disk space and bandwidth while the other two are unlimited. The Deluxe and Enterprise plans are also unlimited in regards to hosted domains and MySQL databases while the standard plan includes a single hosted domain and 25 MySQL databases.

VPS Hosting Plans

If you prefer a virtual private server, check out the VPS hosting plans. With Lite, Pro and Ultimate plans, it’s easy to find the right one. Disk space ranges from 60 GB to 140 GB, and memory ranges from 2 GB to 8 GB.

In addition, all of the plans include:

  • 2 IP addresses
  • cPanel/WHM
  • Free setup
  • 1,000 Mbps connection speed

Your server will be powered with Intel Xeon processors, and you’ll have SSH/root access. You’ll also have ample server resources at your disposal.

Dedicated Hosting Plans

If you want to have complete control over your hosting, go with a dedicated hosting plan. Choose the Intel Xeon processor that you want, and select from 4 to 20 cores. Plans also come with 8 GB to 32 GB of ram and additional features that let you customize your experience.

All of these plans include WHM so you can take full control of your server. They also have a built-in IPMI interface so you can remotely manage the server without contacting Netmoly.

The Pros: What I Like About Netmoly

Now that you have a basic overview of Netmoly, let’s go over my personal experiences using the service. I got a Standard account some time ago and tested Netmoly for two months before this review is published.

1. Premium hosting with reasonable price tags

One of my first impressions on Netmoly: This looks like a premium hosting service.

Averagely a hosting company charge no more than $5/mo on their cheapest hosting plan. Netmoly charges $8.95/mo for annual signup on their Basic plan.

It has a 99.99% uptime record (see uptime review below for more info), and it delivers on its promises in regards to speed. I loaded a test site onto the server and tested it in eight different locations using Bitcatcha. It scored an “A” in loading times, whether it was loading in the U.S. or Japan. Loading times ranged from 64 ms up to 1,319 ms. In contrast, most other shared hosts I have tested score a B or B+.

3. Uptime Guarantee Backed by SLA

I love hosting companies with SLA – it shows that the host is serious in meeting customers' needs. And Netmoly is one of those who backed their guarantee with ultra clear written terms. In short, you get your money back if Netmoly uptime score goes below 99.9%.

Netmoly guarantees 99.9% uptime on shared web hosting services only. In the event of service downtime, you may receive a compensation of one (1) month of credit in your account.

Netmoly hosting uptime

One of the key factors in finding the best web host is server reliability. To quantify and review a host reliability, we track hosting uptime using third party tools. For Netmoly – we use Uptime Robot to track our test site uptime. The results are shown in screenshots below.

Based on recent (year 2018) uptime and speed test data – it's safe to say that Netmoly hosting is solid and reliable.

Netmoly Uptime (Sep/Oct 2018): 100%.
Netmoly Uptime (Apr/May 2018): 100%. Test site has not gone down for the last 1,300+ hours.

4. Helpful Drag-and-Drop Site Builder

I also really like the company’s Drag and Drop Site Builder. I was able to create a site without any coding. It has over 150 templates and pre-designed navigation menus. It also has various buttons and shapes. Basically, it contains everything you need to build a nice site without any coding knowledge.

A: Please tell me more about the in-house Drag and Drop Site Builder released last year?

Answer by Mina Ishak:

The drag & drop site builder is a third party software that is integrated into our servers. The builder provides our clients a complete freedom and flexibility in designing their websites as they imagine by simply dragging and dropping elements from a huge set of options, some of which are: menus, buttons, pictures, videos, text, forms, tables, social plugins, PayPal buttons, Google maps and more. It supports SEO tags, over 35 languages, comes with more than 170 templates and doesn't require coding knowledge.

There are hundreds of pre-designed templates in the Site Builder, here are 6 samples in the “Technology” category.

Cons: Disadvantages of Netmoly

1. Netmoly Server Resources Limit

Netmoly may offer unlimited hosting, but like most other unlimited hosting providers, excessive use can result in a suspension or an account termination (see terms quoted below).

While the company doesn’t set a limit on disk space and storage, it evaluates the needs of everyone, and if your site begins to impact the quality of other sites, the company will ask you to switch plans. If that doesn’t work, you might not be able to use the site anymore.

Inodes limits

Each shared hosting account has a 100K/200K inodes limit. In the event if your account exceeded one hundred thousand (100,000) inodes, you will automatically forfeit the scheduled backup services. In the event if your account exceeded two hundred thousand (200,000) inodes, we will send you an alert to reduce the number of files in your account. If you failed to do so, at Netmoly's discretion, may result in suspension or termination of you shared hosting account and deletion of all its content, including, without limitation, (Databases, files, emails, and any other data).

Database and emails limits

The following limits shall not be exceeded by shared hosting accounts. Database size may not exceed one (1) GB per single database and/or two (2) GB as a total size of all databases under same account. Outgoing emails cannot exceed two hundred and fifty (250) email per hour, this means that you cannot send more than 250 emails per hour. Database and Email limits are lifted on VPS plans and Dedicated Servers.

2. Netmoly pricing: Slightly higher than average

Compare Netmoly Shared Hosting

If you’re like most people, you want to know about the price. Netmoly’s shared hosting plans are more expensive than competitors’ plans are.

Hosting CompanySignup Price *Renewal Price
Altus Host$4.95/mo$4.95/mo
InMotion Hosting$5.49/mo$8.99/mo

* All prices based on plans similar to Netmoly's Business Plan. Prices checked accurate on May 2018.

As with most things in life, though, you get what you pay for. This hosting company uses fully scalable, NGINX-optimized servers that are incredibly powerful. Netmoly also states that all of its servers have more resources than needed, so you don’t have to worry about downtime with this company.

In other words, you might pay more, but it’s for good reason.

More about NGINX

Nginx acts as an http load balancer for serving static files, it works along with Apache. Nginx serves static files amazingly fast as it can handle thousands of simultaneous requests without the need of starting new threads or processes, and thus using a very small memory footprint which dramatically increases web page load speeds and improves the overall performance. Apache .htaccess can be used normally.

Compare Netmoly VPS Hosting Price

It should come as no surprise that Netmoly is also priced above the competition when it comes to VPS hosting. Some of the extra cost has to do with some unique add-ons, such as WHMXtra and a Silver Domain Reseller Account.

Unlike the shared hosting plans, though, I can’t justify the extra price with the VPS plans. I reached out to Netmoly to find out why they charge so much for these plans and here's Mina's (Netmoly CEO) answer.

Q: In general, Netmoly, is 30 – 50% more expensive than other VPS hosting services. How do we justify the price difference?

Answer by Mina Ishak:

In order to ensure a quality service, better uptime, timely ticket responses, and advanced level of support while providing a wide range of features, we have to keep the prices at this range. However, we often create promotions on different occasions during the year. Our pricing model is simple: the monthly fees that shown on website are not based on a yearly subscription, it is the actual fee the client pays per month. Clients on yearly and biennially plans benefit of 15% and 25% respectively.

As for the VPSes, the service is managed which means that we handle server configuration and optimization for clients, OS & cPanel re-installations, as well as system and kernel updates and patching, in addition to the cPanel license that is natively included. Unlike some providers that charge fees for managed services and cPanel license on top of the initial fee. Exclusively, WHMCS & Softaculous licenses are included for free with all VPS plans.

The Bottom Line: Is Netmoly Recommended?

Quick recap: Netmoly Pros vs Cons

While Netmoly has a slightly higher price than others out there, the quality and features are up to par, especially with the shared hosting plans. Plus, I really like the customer service reps. They are professional and friendly, which makes them easy to work with.

I highly recommend Netmoly for big sites, as well as e-commerce sites. If you need premium hosting and don’t mind paying a little bit more, this is a good option for you.
